Our Campus

Nature and nurture

Since 1934, Maumee Valley Country Day School has operated from the hills along Swan Creek in south Toledo. It’s also the year we adopted the name Maumee Valley Country Day School, signaling not only our new philosophy of learning but our new verdant location beyond the urban core of Toledo.

Starting with a single building (the Smead Building), the campus has grown over the decades along with its student population and surrounding Toledo community.

Our 70-acre campus now includes eight buildings: Smead, the Wolfe Gallery, the Middle School, Dining Hall, Millennium Theater, Upper School, the Johnson-Bayer Physical Education Complex, and the Dayal House. The “Under One Roof Campaign” that started in the first decade of 2000s led to all those facilities (with the exception of the Dayal House) being connected under a single roof.

Our campus is a combination of new and historical buildings, academic and athletic outdoor spaces – all of which emerges from the hustle and bustle of surrounding roads and commerce. We are proud to be in Northwest Ohio and part of a region offering an unparalleled blend of natural beauty, outdoor adventures, and vibrant cultural experiences.
